Our hope is not hung upon such untwisted thread as “I imagine so,” or “it is likely”; but the cable, the strong rope of our fastened anchor, is the oath and promise of Him who is eternal verity. Our salvation is fastened with God’s own hand and Christ’s own strength to the strong stake of God’s unchanging nature. ~ William Rutherford

This is so very good! It really doesn’t matter that everything around us is changing. Because He never does. And I was thinking — especially concerning a battle with sickness — that just as a storm on the ocean can beat and beat on a ship that is securely anchored and never overcome it, but will eventually wear itself out and die down, leaving the ship still at its appointed place — so when we have anchored our bodies securely into God’s Truth that “With His Stripes We Are Healed,” sickness can beat and beat at our bodies, but it will eventually just wear itself out, and when it does, our bodies will be standing firm, made well by the Word that is unchangeable and immovable.
