This week’s WordPress Weekly Photo Challenge is layers.
The layers of rings on a tree reveal the tree’s age. The rings on this petrified tree trunk indicate a very long and historical life.
The layers of feathers on this peacock created a striking train as he strutted along before stopping to spread them into a beautiful plume.
Defoliated cotton plants explode into bright white layers of fluffy fibers, transforming the field as if it’s freshly fallen snow.
And my favorite kind of layers…chocolate! (My absolute favorite chocolate layer cake includes a rich chocolate frosting.)
“Layers can reveal, conceal, and make something more complex. They can vary in size, texture, color, or functionality. Each layer can have its own story, meaning, or purpose. They can overlap, blend, or be distinctly separate. A layer doesn’t have to be a part of a single object but can even be a slice of a multifaceted image or scene.” Sara Rosso

Love the image of the peacock; they aren’t very shy birds, are they?

Thank you, and thanks for stopping by! We were surprised to see how sociable the peacocks were, and they do love to show off. At times it seemed as though they were actually posing for those of us taking photos.

I’ve only ever been close to one, and he seemed to like the “click” the camera made, and kept tilting his head whenever he heard it 🙂
