Mother’s Day is almost here, and once again many of us are faced with remembering our Mom in past tense. My Mother passed away when I was six years old, but I still remember many things about her. I don’t remember a specific Mother’s Day, but I remember special times with her during the couple of years before she died. If she were still here today I would give her a special card, some pretty flowers, spend time with her, and tell her how much I love and appreciate her. Since she is buried several states away I can’t put flowers on her grave for Mother’s Day, but I do when I’m in the area to visit with family.
If your Mother (Mom, Mama, Momma, or whatever you call her) is still living, you are very blessed. Once she is gone you’ll have no more opportunities this side of Heaven to tell her you love her, appreciate her, give her flowers, or send her a card. Even if your relationship isn’t the best, she is still your Mother, and Mother’s Day is a great time to let her know you’re thinking about her.
